Our history

Dan Hill

Rebuilt4U was founded by Daniel Hill. A successful entrepreneur who is a regular on TV and featured in shows such as Channel 4’s Ultimate Dealers and SuperScrimpers, BBC’s 24 Hours in the Past and most recently the hit Dave show Storage Hunters UK. This wheeler dealer will turn his hand to anything but his passion is to help others achieve.

Dan struggled at school and at the age of 10 he could barely read or write. Diagnosed with dyslexia, his battle really began. In his early twenties he found himself unemployed, claiming benefits and living in a hostel amongst drug addicts and criminals. Witnessing injecting and extreme violence between residents, Dan knew he needed to turn his life around.

With a bit of knowledge about the construction industry, he had a light bulb moment and with £50 set up his first business.  Loaning transport and securing space in a neighbour’s back garden for £20 a week, he began collecting surplus materials from building sites and selling them on for a profit.  At the young age of 21, Dan was often laughed at and shunned. No one took him seriously, but his determination did not allow him to give up. Within a few years, Dan was supplying many building professionals.  His hard work continued and he now runs several successful businesses.

Life can be a struggle and sometimes you just need a helping hand. That’s where Rebuilt4U come in.

What others say about us

“Occasionally you come across businesses that are brilliantly clever through their common sense approach. Daniel has won several environmental awards and gets my vote for making a profit while benefiting communities.”

“Enviromate has a key mission to reduce construction surplus. Keeping reusable material out of the waste stream and landfill and actively diverting this back into community projects and charities across the UK. Combining this with Rebuilt4u’s mission to take derelict housing in deprived areas regenerating to provide housing for individuals that find themselves faced with homelessness – there really isn’t any better partnership that brings real positive change to tackle regeneration, waste and homelessness.

We truly believe this is the beginning of a ‘change’ partnership that begins with Jaywick and will be replicated around the UK.”

“The Council is looking forward to working with Daniel on such an innovative and imaginative project in Jaywick Sands to bring about a once in a lifetime change for the community.”

Paul Honeywood – Cabinet Member for Housing

“eDEN Garden Rooms is delighted to support this charity by donating surplus building materials to enable the charity to renovate a house to create a home for homeless people. The materials we have donated are surplus to our requirements plus recycled items such as windows and insulation – a fantastic use of the materials, giving them a second lease of life.”

Rachel Wichall – Director of eDEN Garden Rooms Ltd.

“I believe if nobody is prepared to do anything nothing is achieved, whereas even if a few contribute a little the achievements are great. Good luck with this project.”

Peter Davis – Jewson

“At Regent we are happy to support local organisations whose work really makes a difference to the community.”
